Another week passes and the 2022 NFL Draft gets closer and closer. In previous posts, I have raved at the crop of receivers headlined by Ohio State studs Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson. But, if the Browns do end up going to the playoffs, which hopefully they will, the top pass catchers in the class will be long gone. So, this week, I am going a different route with my pick. Receiver is an obvious, glaring need for the team but that does not mean they are not holes elsewhere.

Round 1 Pick 16- Tyler Linderbaum OL, Iowa
“Linderbaum lasting to this point in the first round is not some sort of statement that I do not believe in the talent. He is No. 3 overall on my personal big board. However, centers have historically not been taken higher than No. 18 overall. Linderbaum could put that to the test.”

Round 1 Pick 16- Garrett Wilson
“Wilson finished the regular season on a tear, recording 371 yards a six scores in his final three games. He possesses elite separation ability and is a terror for corners to try and stick with at every level of the field.”

Round 1 Pick16- Drake Jackson EDGE, USC
“Jackson has an explosive first step and plays with leverage along the edge of the line. Raw but athletic, he projects incredible upside with little downside to his game”

Round 1 Pick 16- Jordan Davis DL, Georgia
The Browns let Sheldon Richardson go this past offseason and while the new guys brought in have played well, Jordan Davis could be a mainstay for years on the interior of the defensive line. Jadeveon Clowney is a free agent this offseason so the Browns could go edge here, but Jordan Davis is a safe pick.
